Client: Yakama Nation Village of Hope 2019
This was a really unique experience for me because (as a non-native) I was able to live on the Yakama Nation Reservation for two months. This project is close to my heart because I got to know so many of the Village of Hope tenants, and hear their stories, and embrace their traditions.
When I started working on my creative projects, I knew I needed to give them more of a brand identity so I started with a logo. The whole community was so supportive of one another and many of the women on the reservation raised multiple children from other families. This got me thinking about the phrase, “it takes a village to raise a child”. It tied in perfectly with the name “Village of Hope” and so it became our headline, and the rest of the logo illustrates a tight-knit native community.
Overall I’m very happy with this design and everything that went into this website for the non-profit.
